Taylor & Girish
About
Taylor & Girish are a husband-and-wife indie folk duo who make music on their own terms, free from outside expectations.
They’ve been making music together for over five years, though both have been writing and performing since their teenage years. After submitting an early demo to BBC Introducing Oxford, they were invited for an interview and have received regular support from the show ever since.
Their debut EP, released in October 2024, introduced their sound to a wider audience and received glowing reviews. Oxfordshire Music Scene praised it as “packed with emotion, tenderness but with a warmth... a fantastic selection of songs,” noting the artwork as “beautiful” and describing Oedipus The King as “sultry storytelling at its best.” Nightshift highlighted the duo’s “sparse, plucked acoustic guitars and close vocal harmonies,” calling their sound “a delicate, intimate musical world that is rather lovely.”
Their latest EP, Hollow Wood, was unveiled gradually over the course of 2025, with each single leading up to the release of the title track in October. The record delves into themes of solitude, renewal, and revelation, presenting a warmer, fuller sound than their previous work. Written, recorded, and produced by the duo, Hollow Wood also features artwork and music videos created by them, extending the EP’s themes into a cohesive visual world.
